01 / Clothing
Clothing: find your size
Start with your measurements, then compare them with the information for your chosen item. Size labels and conversions can vary between styles.
| Shopping for | Measurements to check |
|---|---|
| Tops & jackets | Bust, shoulders and sleeve length. For layering, compare with a jacket or top that already fits you well. |
| Dresses | Bust, waist and hips. Check the dress length too, especially for fitted or maxi styles. |
| Trousers & skirts | Waist and hips, plus inseam or garment length. Check whether the waistband is fixed, elastic or adjustable. |
Where do I find my product’s measurements?
Here is a real example from the Sara top. The layout and available measurements can vary by product.
“Size guide” beside the sizes opens a general conversion chart. Use the product’s own measurement information for fit.

Scroll down to Description and look for “Fit & Size” and “Detailed Measurements”. Check the listed units and whether the dimensions are body or garment measurements.

These screenshots explain where to look. The Sara top’s measurements apply only to that product.
View this product exampleHow to measure
Take a moment to measure.
Wear light clothing, stand naturally and keep the tape level. It should sit close to your body without pulling tight.
- 1Bust
- Measure around the fullest part of your bust, with the tape passing under your arms and across your back.
- 2Waist
- Measure around your natural waist — the narrowest part of your torso. Keep your body relaxed.
- 3Hips
- Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
- 4Inseam
- Measure from the top of your inner leg to your ankle. You can also measure the inside seam of trousers that fit you well.

Measure heel to toe.
- Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall.
- Mark the end of your longest toe, then measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
- Measure both feet and use the longer measurement. Wear the socks you plan to wear with your shoes.
Fit questions
A few things about fit.
Where do I find the product size chart?
Look beside the size options for “Size guide”. For exact fit information, also check Description for “Fit & Size”, “Detailed Measurements” or a product-specific chart. The size-guide popup may show general conversions. If measurements are missing, send us the product link for help.
What if my measurements fall between clothing sizes?
Check the fit notes and the measurements most relevant to the item: bust for tops, waist and hips for bottoms, and all three for fitted dresses. If you are unsure, send us the product link and your measurements before ordering.
Are the measurements for my body or the garment?
Check the label on the product chart. Body measurements describe you; garment measurements describe the item itself. When a chart gives garment measurements, comparing with a similar piece you already own can help.
Will the same size fit across every style?
Fit can vary with the cut, fabric and design. Check each product’s chart and fit notes, even if you have ordered from SOERA before.
Product-specific measurements and size labels take priority. Check each item before ordering.
